Land of Song A D&D Campaign

The Al’Tyr

The Al’Tyr are the most powerful of the Aesir families, and the family from which the original Great Aesir came. The land on which Sunton now stands was originally theirs; see Aberdeen for how the land passed into mortal hands.

What Tyleth told the party

In session 4 Tyleth named the Al’Tyr as the great Aesir family that owned Tyre, the island that Sunton is built on, and the whole of this valley. The arms and armour the party carried out of the Moon and Phoenix — the silver bird above the crescent — is the family’s heraldic symbol, which is why strangers keep recognising it on them.

No one has seen an Al’Tyr in the thousand years since the Great War ended. The land is still theirs by right, and everyone in Sunton knows perfectly well that the city sits on it as squatters.

Tyleth asked the party who the father of the Al’Tyr was, in the manner of a man certain the answer is common knowledge. Nobody at the table knew, and Niðrerir’s recollection failed him. The name is still unrecorded here.
